Where to start…. Our bedroom was always just a room, but after I got my hands dirty (literally), this room feels like a calm and inviting environment.

The chest of drawers is a heirloom, handed down from my gran to me, but I just had to give it new life, so I painted the base with a mix of True blue and cement grey and I might have put some other Tjhoko colors in as well, sometimes you can lose yourself when it comes to the colors. I always wanted a corner in my room where I can sit and be still, either just having me-time and checking Tjhoko projects out or spending time with my God, the ladder I took from the garage and took it apart and dry brushed with what seemed like every Thjoko color I have in my drawer ☺, the black and gold vase I painted after my cat ran it over and broke the neck off. The chair was an ugly brown old aged leather which I painted and using it as a side table. (also a heirloom from the same gran). Now, getting to the wall. I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do here, but I knew I wanted something that light would reflect great on and I got just that. It is a mixture of Cement Grey, Matt Black, Cloud White and Sherif’s Stone, afterwards I drew hanging lights from the roof down, just to even love it more. I wanted shelves, but wanted to up cycle something and found the 2 wooden crates in one of my closets, I used 2 old coffee jars as vases and painted the bottom and the small one I painted with Simon says. The bedside tables I painted a solid color on top (Cloud White), did a wash with damp cloth and Cloud White for the legs and dry brushed over the baskets and the washed parts. I painted the lamp shades and removed the beads and painted with Don’s Wash. All the decor and extras used is what was lying around in the house and actually had no proper place, this created a room I only could dream of.

Now this is a room I feel relaxed in!
